Neal St. Onge is proud to be a sixth generation resident of St. Louis County.

Growing up in St. Louis County Neal attended Lafayette High School and was a National Honor Society graduate. Neal married Mary Kay in 1976;

Mary Kay is Lafayette Township Committeewoman and also Vice Chair of St. Louis County Republican Central Committee. She is also state committeewoman for 7th Senate District for the Republican party, they have three wonderful children and six beautiful grandchildren.

Both are members of St. Clare of Assisi parish in Ellisville. In addition to starting and running his own businesses for over 30 years Neal also served as a firefighter/EMT for the Metro West Fire Protection District.

Legislative Leadership

Neal began electoral politics when he was elected to the Rockwood School Board in 1995. Neal piloted efforts to enhance young people’s understanding of government by coordinating the 7th Senatorial District Leadership Academy. The Academy encourages its members to take regular field trips to government facilities throughout the state. Participants not only gain insight into the process of government but emerge as active Missourians. Neal participates in the Lafayette Township Republican Organization and has served his party as a delegate to the 2000 and 2004 and 2008 Republican State Convention.

Neal St. Onge has served the people of the 88th District (Ballwin, Winchester, and parts of Ellisville) since his election to the Missouri House in November 2000. Sponsoring and passing a number of bills into law Neal has served as chairman of two key committees.  As chairman of the first Small Business Committee in the house Neal was able to gain respect from members of RCGA, RBA and also AGC and has continued this relationship with all transportation issues. Neal is a long-time St. Louis County business owner and is completely familiar with the challenges small businesses face in Missouri.

Neal was chosen as delegate to the Congressional Conference on Civic Education in Washington DC

Neal coordinated legislative participation of Missouri School Board Association’s interactive civic education program “Checks N Balances” broadcast statewide

Neal became chairman of the Transportation Committee in 2005. He successfully passed legislation that makes our roads safer, streamlines emissions testing for our automobiles, and increases the use of safety belts and booster seats for children. Through Neal’s efforts a bill was passed to protect workers on our highways and the successful “Move Over” campaign protects workers and police.

Bills sponsored and PASSED this year by Neal

• Eliminate trucks in left lanes on highways with 3 or more lanes.

• Eliminate sales tax on aircraft repair parts that will add 100 jobs and $100 million in economic growth to Spirit Airport alone.

• Alcohol interlock requirement for multiple DWI convictions

• Requires all CDL drivers to be able to read, write and speak English.

• Repair and replace 800 of Missouri's worst bridges

• Build a new Mississippi River Bridge

Here are some of the other solutions Neal has sponsored:

• 800 Bridge Repair

• New Mississippi River Bridge

• Booster Seat Safety Improvements

• Move Over (Emergency Vehicle Safety)

• Work Zone Safety

• Streamlined Emission Program

ALL WITHOUT A TAX INCREASE

By closely monitoring the Department of Transportation Neal created transparency in their budget and made MoDOT accessible and accountable to its citizens. More recently Neal started a discussion about how we must enhance our roads, mass transit, and ports to keep Missouri’s economy growing. Neal has been successful in the House by working with both Republicans and Democrats, labor and management, teachers and administrators and parents to actually solve problems-not posture about them without results.
